In addition, Burney’s partner company, Alpha DNA Investment Management, will also sponsor this new position and will work closely with the selected candidate. Alpha DNA is an artificial intelligence-based investment manager that sells separately managed accounts to advisors and wealth managers.

Position Overview

As an Internal Sales Specialist for Burney Company and Alpha DNA, you will be a key player in the growth strategies of both firms. This role requires a versatile individual who can effectively multitask across various functions, including sales, relationship management, and product knowledge.

You will engage with investment advisors and wealth managers, building and nurturing relationships while promoting our solutions to help them achieve their business objectives.

Core Responsibilities

  • As an Internal Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with financial professionals while conducting sales calls regarding Burney Company services and investment products and the products of Alpha DNA.
  • Person must demonstrate solid market, product, and service knowledge of public investment markets and/or the advisor/wealth management space.
  • In this role, you will be expected to establish and maintain open communication with our sales leadership and work together to help meet or exceed established sales goals, individual execution metrics, as well as objectives of both firms.
  • This position will adhere to our firm’s Hybrid work model in which employees are expected to work from the office at least 3 days per week.
  • Generate a strong pipeline of advisor and wealth manager leads for the internal Burney sales team to close.
  • Also generate advisor leads for Alpha DNA to sell its separate account products
  • Proactively position and differentiate the Burney products and services using a consultative sales process.
  • Build and execute a thoughtful business plan to maximize efficiency and engagement.
  • Expand existing client bases of both firms by identifying and pursuing new opportunities thru data and analytics.
  • Ability to converse with financial professionals on current economic conditions.
  • Work with co-workers and teams across both organizations to help achieve sales goals.
  • Distributing investment content/materials to sales prospects to generate interest in our products.
  • Comply with all applicable rules and regulations as well as adhere to the compliance guidelines of both firms.


  • The base salary range is $60,000 to $70,000 per year.
  • In addition, the compensation will include incentive bonuses, 401k employer contribution, and profit sharing that combined can represent up to another $20,000 in annual compensation.
  • The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market.


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum required 2+ years of sales experience, preferably in the Financial Services industry
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment while also being a motivated, innovative self-starter
  • Strong people skills with proven ability to build effective relationships
  • Possess exceptional organizational skills, time management and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task
  • Sales focused mentality and a desire to grow within the sales organization
  • Strong PC Skills

  • Offices located in Columbia, MD and Reston, VA.
  • Will consider candidates that can work from either office location, but some time will be required in the Maryland office.
