Wealth Management & Financial Planning in Nashville
We build lasting relationships with clients who value straight talk and thoughtful guidance.
Independent fiduciaries since 1974
Burney Wealth Management is part of The Burney Company, an independent investment advisory firm founded over 50 years ago. Our Nashville advisors take time to understand your situation and provide guidance that helps you make good decisions with confidence. We measure success by the relationships we build and whether you're making real progress on what matters to you.
Work with a nationally recognized team of fiduciaries.
A single team to protect and grow your wealth with tax efficiency.
You get a cohesive team of fiduciaries: certified financial planners, credentialed investment professionals, and our in-house CPA advisory. Tax preparation services are offered through Burney Tax Advisors LLC, an affiliated firm.
We work with you across the three pillars of wealth management: Financial Planning, Investment Management, and Tax Planning
Who We Serve
Burney Wealth Management in Nashville works with clients who benefit from a coordinated, tax-centric approach, especially when income, assets, and decisions are more complex than a typical “set-it-and-forget-it” plan.
Business Owners
Individuals with Equity Compensation
Retirees & Pre-Retirees
Business ownership creates unique planning opportunities and tax consequences. We help owners make connected decisions across the business and personal balance sheet, including:
- Cash flow planning and long-term wealth strategy
- Retirement plan optimization as part of your broader roadmap
- Preparing for major tax years and liquidity events
- Coordinating planning decisions with an investment strategy built for your goals
Equity awards like RSUs and stock options can be a significant part of your compensation, and also one of the most tax-sensitive decisions you'll face. We help you make smart choices before, during, and after key events, including:
- Understanding your grants, vesting schedules, and what you actually own
- Planning exercise timing to reduce your tax bill and manage AMT exposure
- Managing concentrated stock positions as part of your broader portfolio
- Coordinating equity income with cash flow and long-term wealth goals
Retirement is one of the biggest financial transitions you'll go through. Whether you're 5 years out or already there, we help you build a plan that holds up, including:
- Building a withdrawal strategy across accounts to reduce/minimize what you pay in taxes
- Optimizing Social Security timing as part of your income plan
- Adjusting your investment strategy to match where you are in retirement
- Planning ahead for healthcare costs, estate decisions, and what you leave behind
